Auth0

Enterprise auth with the most extensive identity-provider catalog

8.3 / 10 54 Verified Reviewers Verified 2026-04-30 Any (SDKs in 12+ languages)

Auth0 (Okta-owned) is the enterprise auth default. Universal Login, SSO, MFA, social, enterprise IdPs (SAML, OIDC, AD), Actions for custom logic. The trade-off: pricing is opaque and steep at scale, and the developer experience trails newer competitors. Best for B2B SaaS that needs to sell into enterprises with custom IdP requirements.

Wins on enterprise IdP coverage.

Customer needs Azure AD federation. Customer needs Okta SSO. Customer needs Ping. Auth0 covers all three with config, not code. For B2B selling upmarket this is the moat.

Pricing pushed us to Clerk for new projects.

Auth0 quoted $480/mo for 10K MAU. Clerk does it for $25. For B2C apps without enterprise customer requirements, Clerk's the right call.

Actions are powerful but the editor is dated.

Auth0 Actions for custom logic at login work well. The web-based editor feels 2018. We test locally and copy-paste, which works but isn't a great DX.
