Notion is the docs/wiki/lightweight-database tool that became default at most startups. The flexibility (pages within pages, inline databases, templates) is the strength and the curse — teams need conventions to keep it from becoming a swamp. AI features (writing, summarization) integrated through 2024-2025. Trade-off vs Linear/Confluence: not a specialized tool, so heavy-use cases need supplements. Best for teams that want a flexible knowledge base and lightweight project tracking.
